John Armitage Buttrey
1818 - 1886
The Buttrey family are recorded as living in Sydney while trading in the South Seas between 1862 until they returned to England in 1868. Around 1875 John Armitage Buttrey changed his surname to 'Lister' (the maiden name of his mother) along with his wife and children. He died in 1886 at Portsea Island, Hampshire, England, under the name of John Armitage Lister.
