BiographyPatent medicine manufacturer. Holloway first started selling his general purpose ointments and pills in 1837 from Broadstreet, London. He moved to 244 Strand Street, London, in 1841. Expanded to the United States in 1852. The premises moved to Oxford Street in 1860s. The company continued after his death in 1883, moving to Southwark Street in 1910. The business was taken over in 1930. Holloway was very successful, becoming a multimillionare.
