BiographyJewish doctor in the Netherlands, decended from Jews who migrated from Portugal. Due to the introduction of anti-semitic laws in 1942 she was forbidden to practice as a doctor. Arrested in 1944 but released, she survived the holocaust but most of her family died. After the war she gained her qualifications as a gynecologist an became responsible for the Dutch Jewish ophans who had survived the camps.
