DescriptionThis flat-based dome-shaped coiled and woven basket was made by Tasmanian Aboriginal artist Vicki West and shows a very high quality of weaving techniques. The shape is based on traditional Indigenous shelters that were common in Tasmania.HistoryVicki West is highly regarded as an artist using traditional Indigenous techniques in producing contemporary artworks.
