It is the Navy's longest serving overseas unit.HistoryThe Royal Australian Navy Logistic Support Element - Middle East (LSE-ME) is a small team currently (2007) operating from the island of Bahrain in the Persian Gulf. Their primary tasks involve the movement of stores, mail, spare parts and personnel. This unit has been based in the Middle East since the first Gulf War providing logistic support and resources to sustain RAN units and detachments on operational assignment to the Middle East Area of Operations. The small, dedicated team provides a wide range of support services from meeting personnel and medical needs to arranging replenishments at sea to organising shore respite for ships' companies. Their motto is 'Absolutely Anything Anywhere'.SignificanceThis sticker highlights the efforts of Australian support units to fellow Australian and Allied troops. The work of this quiet and continuous unit maintains the needs of troops in many situations.
