HistoryDonor states: these foul weather jackets were not an issue item but if you could buy one then you could wear one. They were much sought after items as the normal cold weather item issued to cadets was the seaman's jersey which was a woollen jumper circa 1950 which had to be worn under the AWD shirt and were very itchy. This 'foully' was bought second hand at a disposal store in Gosford in 1981 and saw much use on cold nights at the cadet unit ot in ships during Annual COntinuous Training (ACT) which happened every year for seven days. Badges on this jacket are RAN ones with the crown on the PO badge and the P from MTP badge removed as we were not allowed to wear these. H1330 was my cadet service number.
