DescriptionThis hand made, dark stained wooden tool box was used by Alfred Luther Lake and his son Bernard Lake in the shipwright trade. The box stored a collection of many shipwright's tool including saws, augers, drill bits and adzes. The box has a removable shelf, divided into three sections for smaller tools as well as a hand cut wooden latch on the inside lid to secure a saw. On the back side are two wooden struts secured to hold the lid upright when open.
