DescriptionA coloured engraving from a pictorial atlas, possibly the Picturesque Atlas, titled 'Shipping, Circular Quay' by Julian Rossi Ashton.SignificanceIn 1881 Julian Ashton joined the Melbourne-based Australasian Sketcher and in 1883 moved to Sydney to work on the Picturesque Atlas of Australasia. He worked there until 1886 he travelled extensively throughout Australia drawing points of interest; he also drew for the Bulletin.
