DescriptionDuring the 1930s Arnott's produced a series of biscuit tins shaped as beach buckets and decorated with beach scenes. This tin features images of children playing with balls, a small boat, an inflatable toy, beach buckets and a surfboard, together with figures in 1930s swimwear. HistoryThe Arnott's factory moved from Newcastle to Homebush in 1906. From the early 1900s they began manufacturing biscuit tins as a means of company promotion, and in the 1930s produced a series of tins in the shape of children's beach buckets.SignificanceThis is a rare example of a beach bucket produced by Arnott's Homebush factory during the 1930s.
