DescriptionLetter from Lieutenant John Y MacKinnon to Elsie Jackons was written while 'At sea, nearing Colombo'. Letter begins 'My dear Elsie, no doubt you will be a bit surprised at getting a letter from me & from this quarter of the globe. I suppose you have heard that I have volunteered for active service...' The letter tells of the trip along the Queensland coast, views of Java, flying fish and crossing the equator festivities.
