DescriptionScrapbook of newspaper clippings collected by Mark Foy. The newspaper clippings document Australian sailing reports and English reports of the Anglo-Australian Shield Challenge match 1898 and the breakdown of negotiations for a re-match in 1899. Clippings include biographies of W l Wyllie A R A and Mrs W l Wyllie (in segments of 'Ladies of the Wave' and 'Womanhood'), the dispute between Foy and the Medway Yacht Club over the site of the sailing races, details of the races and specifications of the competing yachts, the dinners held to mark the occasion and sailing activities of the Sydney Flying Squadron. The English reports were secured by press cutting services in London.
