BiographyMer Islander Tatipai Barsa was born on Thursday Island. Through his father Barsa is descended from the Magaram tribe, one of the eight tribes of Mer (Murray) Island. Barsa has a Associate Diploma from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Visual Arts course at the Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE, Cairns. A painter, printmaker and fabric designer Barsa has exhibited regularly since 1985.
