BiographyJohn Ramsey McCulloch (1789 -1864) was a Scottish-born economist and author who published extensively on economic policy. He was a student of political economy, attending (but not graduating from) the University of Edinburgh. McCulloch wrote articles for The Edinburgh Review and edited the leading liberal newspaper, The Scotsman. He also taught political economy at University College, London.
