BiographyDerrick Smoothy has been commissioned to produce ship portraits for many shipping companies including , P&O, Union-Castle, and Chandris. His favourite medium is oils. During World War II he served with the Royal Navy on aircraft carriers. Smoothy has exhibited at the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Peabody Museum owns a series of his ship portraits from the Blue Riband Line.
