Marie-Joseph Alphonse Pellion

BiographyCommonly referred to as 'J Alphonse Pellion', Pellion was a French midshipman, trained topographical painter, and naval draughtsman aboard l'URANIE under the command of Louis de Freycinet during the voyages of 1817-1820.
During the French expeditions stay in Sydney in 1819, Pellion made many sketches of New South Wales and managed to make two journeys up to the Blue Mountains recording views of Cox's Pass and the Cox's River.
