Williams played the role of Rosalind Reynolds, a swimming movie star who goes to Hawaii to shoot a movie, taking her fiance Ricardo Montez (Ricardo Montalbán) with her. Cyd Charisse plays Reynolds' fellow movie star and best friend, Yvonne Torro, who is in love with Ricardo Montez and Peter Lawford plays the role of Lawrence Kingsley, a military technical advisor for Reynolds' movie, who eventually falls in love with Reynolds.
