BiographyRoy Kennedy was born in 1934 at Darlington Point near Griffith in NSW. He grew up on Police Paddock Mission during the Depression. Kennedy worked as a seasonal agricultural worker in the Riverina district, and then moved to Sydney. In 1995 he began studying Aboriginal Studies at Sydney Institute of Technology. He has won a NAIDOC Week award. Kennedy is from the Wiradjuri language group in the region of Western NSW. He is a member of the community of Waterloo, Sydney.
