DescriptionA breakfast menu for Sunday 27, 1922 on board SS BORDA, a P&O branch service Australia via the Cape.
HistoryThe SS BORDA was originally built for P&O for the UK-Australia emigrant service via the Cape of Good Hope (Branch Line). She became an Australian troop transport in WWI until 1920 when she returned to the Australia route. Her last trip to Australia was in 1929 and she was sold the following year to Japan for demolition.
SignificanceShip menus became important souvenirs for passengers travelling aboard. They were often signed by other passengers and usually featured decorative covers and were mementos of elaborate meals served.
