DescriptionTypewritten specification begins 'The engines to be designed for a piston speed of not exceeding 750 feet per minute..' And proceeds to specify number and dimensions of all parts, concluding 'as already mentioned in the hull specification, the owners will provide the deadweight for the trial and while this is being put on board the contractors are to provide all necessary labour and supervision of the machinery for same, the owners only paying for the time of one man to attend to the boiler'.
