DescriptionLetter addressed to McIlwraith, McEacharn & Co in Melbourne from JF Williams from Fremantle. In the letter, Mr Williams discusses his experience working as a second engineer aboard the SS FEDERAL between June 1987 until June 1899, when he was promoted to the SS Kalgoorlie. Mr Williams reports that while he worked on board the SS FEDERAL, the ship behaved splendidly under rough weather.
