DescriptionThis engraving featured in the 7th edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica published between 1830 and 1842. The plate features nine illustrations relating to sea-lights, including a parabolic reflector and lamp with sliding apparatus; a revolving dioptric light of first order section; a fixed dioptric light of first order with mirrors; an annular lens; and Bordier Marcet's reflector. This engraving probably featured in the 7th edition ‘Encyclopaedia Britannica: A Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, and General Literature’ published in 1842.
