The plate features sixteen illustrations relating to various anchor types ( mushroom, grapnel, forked, weighted and common) and anchor parts (square, shank, trend, nut, ring, crown, throat, arm, blade, bill, palm). This engraving probably featured in the 7th edition ‘Encyclopaedia Britannica: A Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, and General Literature’ published in 1842.
